‘Let there Be Light’ is a project run by Pickering Parish Church that aims to better conserve, present and interpret our unique set of mediaeval wall paintings. We want to tell the story of these stunning products of mediaeval artistry and Victorian religious wrangling to new and wider audiences, broadening access to our church and the paintings within it through much-needed conservation work and sympathetic changes to the building.

On this page you can learn more about our exciting project, keep up to date by subscribing to our newsletter, make a donation to support our work, and find out more about the paintings themselves to understand why we want to promote and preserve this national treasure.
