Situated on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, the Pickering Benefice comprises the parishes of St Peter and St Paul, Pickering, St Giles, Lockton, and St John the Baptist, Levisham.  Together with a daughter Church (dedicated to St Francis) in the farming community of Marishes, south of the town, these churches serve a wide area of rural Ryedale centred on the mediaeval market town of Pickering.
